Forward Verizon Fios Digital Voice / Verizon landline to an AI receptionist

Keep your published number and forward calls to MyAIVoiceAgent when you want the agent to answer.

In dial codes below, XXXXXXXXXX is the ten-digit number you want calls forwarded to (your area code plus number, no +1). Anywhere you see “your MyAIVoiceAgent number”, use the MyAIVoiceAgent number from your account after you sign up.

Every call

  1. Fios Digital Voice (FDV) or traditional: lift the receiver, dial *72 and wait for the tones, then dial XXXXXXXXXX.
  2. Traditional line: forwarding activates when the forward-to call is answered. If that line is busy, call it again; after it answers you'll hear two short tones, then hang up.
  3. FDV online alternative: sign in to My Verizon > Account Manager > Calling Features > Call Forwarding > Forward my incoming calls to (your MyAIVoiceAgent number) > Forward all calls > Activate call forwarding > OK.

To turn it off: Dial *73 (two short tones confirm on a traditional line), or turn it off in Account Manager on FDV.

Verizon says the products and codes may not be available in all areas. On FDV, forwarding is a dual feature: changes made in Account Manager override settings made from the phone, and 'Forward All My Calls' always overrides any other forwarding choice.

Only calls I miss

  1. Star code table (FDV and traditional): Call Forwarding Busy Line *90 on / *91 off; Call Forwarding Busy Don't Answer *92 on / *93 off; Busy Line/Don't Answer (Variable) *42 on / *43 off.
  2. Traditional line, Fixed option: the forward-to number is set by Verizon's business office. Order or change it by contacting Verizon. In most cases it is always on, and where it can be toggled the page gives *90 on / *91 off.

To turn it off: *91 (busy), *93 (don't answer), or *43 (variable), depending on the feature on the line.

Calls forwarded with Busy Line/Don't Answer are subject to local or toll charges. Forwarding happens after a preset number of rings.

After hours

  1. FDV only: sign in to My Verizon > Account Manager > Calling Features > Call Forwarding > Forward my incoming calls to (your MyAIVoiceAgent number).
  2. Choose Forward Calls According to a Schedule, then enter start/end dates and times.
  3. To repeat (for example nightly), tick Repeat Schedule, choose the frequency, fill in Repeat Until, then click Add Schedule > OK.

To turn it off: Remove the schedule or turn off Call Forwarding in Account Manager.

Verizon warns: do NOT click Activate call forwarding when setting a schedule, because that turns forwarding on immediately and overrides the schedule. This feature ('Call Forwarding with Scheduling') is documented for Fios Digital Voice only, not traditional lines.
