Forward AT&T (mobile) to an AI receptionist
Keep your published number and forward calls to MyAIVoiceAgent when you want the agent to answer.
In dial codes below, XXXXXXXXXX is the ten-digit number you want calls forwarded to (your area code plus number, no +1). Anywhere you see “your MyAIVoiceAgent number”, use the MyAIVoiceAgent number from your account after you sign up.
Every call
- On the phone itself, open the call forwarding settings. On Android (AT&T's Pixel tutorial): Phone app > Sidebar icon > Settings > Calling accounts > select the SIM > Call forwarding > Always forward. On iPhone (AT&T's iPhone tutorial): Settings > Apps > Phone > Call Forwarding, then switch Call Forwarding on.
- Enter your MyAIVoiceAgent number.
- Tap TURN ON (Android). A phone receiver with an arrow appears in the status bar while forwarding is on.
To turn it off: Go back to the same Call forwarding screen on the phone and turn Always forward / Call Forwarding off.
AT&T says you can only change call forwarding settings from the wireless phone itself, not online. Forwarded calls are billed for the length of the call and may incur long-distance or roaming charges. Long-distance charges apply when forwarding outside your home calling area, although on some plans forwarded minutes don't count against plan minutes. Forwarding overrides AT&T voicemail. If your MyAIVoiceAgent number is busy, callers get a busy signal. You can't forward to international numbers.
Only calls I miss
- On the phone: Phone app > Sidebar > Settings > Calling accounts > select the SIM > Call forwarding (Android path from AT&T's tutorial).
- Pick 'When unanswered' (forwards if you don't answer after a few rings), 'When busy' (forwards if you're already on a call) or 'When unreachable' (forwards when the phone is off, in airplane mode or has no signal), and set your MyAIVoiceAgent number for each one you want.
To turn it off: Turn each conditional option off in the same Call forwarding menu.
AT&T's device tutorial says whether these options exist depends on the device. AT&T's iPhone tutorial only documents the single Call Forwarding (always) switch. AT&T publishes no dial code for conditional forwarding on consumer wireless.
After hours
AT&T's official wireless pages offer no scheduled or time-of-day forwarding. The closest documented option is turning Always forward on and off by hand.
