Forward AT&T Phone / AT&T home & business landline to an AI receptionist
Keep your published number and forward calls to MyAIVoiceAgent when you want the agent to answer.
In dial codes below, XXXXXXXXXX is the ten-digit number you want calls forwarded to (your area code plus number, no +1). Anywhere you see “your MyAIVoiceAgent number”, use the MyAIVoiceAgent number from your account after you sign up.
Every call
- AT&T Phone, AT&T Phone - Advanced and AT&T Phone for Business (digital): press *72, enter XXXXXXXXXX, then press #.
- Traditional AT&T landline (home or business): dial *72 or 72# and listen for dial tone, then enter the number exactly as you would dial it (1+XXXXXXXXXX if long distance; 10 digits if local but area code required; 7 digits if local without area code). Wait for the confirmation tone. The system then calls the forward-to number, and forwarding activates only if someone answers that call.
To turn it off: Digital AT&T Phone: press *73#. Traditional landline: dial *73 or 73#.
Traditional line: if the forward-to line is busy or unanswered during setup, forwarding won't activate; repeat the steps. Additional local and long-distance charges may apply. While forwarding is on you may hear a brief ring but can't answer on that line, and calls that would go to voicemail go to the forward-to number. AT&T Phone for Business: forwarding numbers saved in the online account don't need re-entering by phone.
Only calls I miss
- AT&T Phone / Phone for Business (digital), No Answer Call Forwarding: press *92, enter XXXXXXXXXX, then press #.
- AT&T Phone / Phone for Business (digital), Busy Call Forwarding: press *90, enter XXXXXXXXXX, then press #.
- Traditional landline: Busy Line and Don't Answer forwarding can't be set by star code. Call AT&T at 800.288.2020 for an agent to set them up.
- Traditional landline, ring count before forwarding: dial *47, then at the second dial tone enter 12 (2 rings), 18 (3), 24 (4), 30 (5), 36 (6), 42 (7), 48 (8), 54 (9) or 60 (10).
To turn it off: Digital: *93# (no answer) and *91# (busy). Traditional: call 800.288.2020.
On AT&T Phone for Business, if these features are set to Forward to Voice Mail in the online account, update that setting so calls go to your MyAIVoiceAgent number.
After hours
No scheduled or time-of-day forwarding appears on AT&T's official landline or AT&T Phone pages. The closest documented options are Exclusive/Selective Call Forwarding (forwards only chosen callers' numbers, not by time) or turning *72 on and off by hand.
